ALISON TURNER
Position: Director and Nursery Manager

I started my career in childcare in 1983 working in both the private and public sector. My early experiences were working in a nursery school in Tower Hamlets, East London with children from varying backgrounds. It was when my own children arrived I decided to stop commuting and look for work nearer home. I took a position as an Early Year’s Practitioner at Broomfield Primary school where I managed the early years class before creating Sunrise Nursery in 2004. I particularly enjoy outdoor activities and carry this through with the children in the nursery.

I run the business/administration arm of Sunrise Nursery. In 2004, whilst Alison was working at Broomfield School, an opportunity arose to purchase the nursery setting. As sisters we had talked about starting our own business and this was perfect timing. We decided that our Nursery needed to have a family atmosphere but run with a profession approach. I believe we have succeeded in this. We have long serving and loyal staff who create a happy and safe environment for the children. I am responsible for the day to day finance including invoicing, budgeting, payroll and registration. When I am not working you can usually find me on the golf course or better still on holiday. |
